634 guest reviewsBuilt in 1934 for a British tea planter and restored by the family who now manage the estate, this four-room bungalow sits at 1,600 metres with tea bushes running down the slope on three sides. Mornings start with mist filling the valley below the veranda; evenings end at the fireplace in the sitting room, which the caretaker lights at dusk. Rooms keep the original teak floors and shuttered windows, with modern bathrooms and thick blankets for the cold nights. The estate manager takes guests on a plucking-and-processing walk through the factory, and the trailhead for Meesapulimala starts a short drive away. Meals are Kerala home cooking served family-style at a single long table.
