They have no website worth the name, no way to take a booking directly, and no photographs that do the place justice. Vacav exists to fix that end of the market — not to add another listing site to the ones that already work well for chain hotels.

Silicon Valley engineering
The AI and cloud practice behind Vacav comes from Pure Storage, eBay, IBM, GE and Morgan Stanley — systems built for billions of daily interactions, applied to a corner of travel that has had almost none of it.
Our own AI, not a licensed feed
Vacav built its own discovery and extraction models rather than buying a travel database. That is why independent operators most platforms have never indexed are in the system at all.
Who is behind it
Gopal Parameswaran
Founder and Chief Executive, Vacav Inc.
Gopal founded Vacav in San Jose in 2025, after more than twenty years building large-scale cloud, distributed systems and consumer platforms — at Pure Storage, eBay, IBM, GE, Quixey and Morgan Stanley.
That background shows up in how Vacav is built. Rather than licensing a travel database, the company built its own discovery engine and pointed it at South-East Asia and India, assembling a catalogue of independent operators and their deals from scratch. It is the reason a four-room homestay in Coorg or Munnar is in the system at all.
Vacav is not his first company in India. In 2017 he founded Milkomeda Technologies in Bangalore, solving a different problem — safe, transparent transport for children getting to and from school. It reached 23 after-school and daycare centres, including Kumon's Bangalore centres, before Covid closed that market in 2020. Milkomeda remains part of the group today, and is how Vacav employs and pays people in India.
He holds a Master's in Computer Science from Cornell University, where he also studied entrepreneurship at the Johnson Graduate School of Management.
