“Perfectly placed on the peninsula. Watching the alms round from the balcony with coffee, then walking to Wat Xieng Thong before the heat.”

Ban Wat Nong, Sakkaline Road, Luang Prabang, 06000 Laos
Fabulous
761 guest reviewsOn the quiet end of Sakkaline Road, inside the UNESCO peninsula, this restored colonial house has ten rooms over two floors with shuttered windows and a wide first-floor balcony. The monks' alms round passes the door just after dawn; the staff will wake you and explain the etiquette if you want to watch respectfully from a distance. Breakfast is on the balcony — baguette, Lao coffee, fruit and eggs. Wat Xieng Thong is a five-minute walk, the night market sets up at the other end of the road, and boats to the Pak Ou caves leave from the landing a block away. Kuang Si falls trips are arranged at the desk.
Couples love it hereThey rated the location 9.6 for a two-person trip.

“Clean, calm, and the staff booked a good Kuang Si driver for a fair price.”
Hot water takes a while to arrive in the morning rush.
