Rooms are simple and cool — polished concrete, ceiling fans plus air conditioning, and blackout curtains for the mornings after a dawn patrol. There is a small saltwater pool in the courtyard, an outdoor rinse area with board racks, and a rooftop where the staff put out cushions before sunset. Longboards and mid-lengths are free for guests, and the in-house instructor runs beginner lessons at Old Man's most mornings. Canggu's cafés, warungs and the Sunday market are all within a 10-minute walk.

It gets loud at night — you're in the middle of Canggu, so bring earplugs.
